I'm going Mexico!
I wanted to go somewhere I had never been before! So when me and boo decide to go our first lovey dovey adventure (meaning longer than a weekend…), we both sat cross-legged and let our imagination go. I came up with South-East Asia, he came up with South America, particularly Mexico. It just made sense to me! I had always wanted to go to Mexico! The land from where most people thing I am! My friends even call me Mexican Lucky! Mexico it was! Mexico it had to be!
So I started looking for itineraries, things to do, places to visit etc. For a few weeks I bombarded boo with ideas, possibilities, sites to see…Worried about finding things that both of us would like to do and waiting for his feedback…until Bae said these magic words: “You know what? It’s obvious you’d love to take care of this on your own. I trust you. Just make up something for us for 2 weeks! I’m sure it will be amazing!”
EEH??? OH…OK! YAAAAY!!!
And so I proceeded to build a cool itinerary across the Yucatán! Destination: Cancún with road trip through the region. On the April 2019 agenda: 11 days, 4 stops. The remaining 4 days won’t be planned. We decided to let it flow.
I’ll be posting about each stop separately.
1st stop: Isla Holbox
I immediately searched for Mexican destinations on my favourite online Travel mag @suitcase and find Isla Holbox: a small paradisiac island, between the Caribbean sea and the Gulf of Mexico.
What to do in Isla Holbox? To be honest, I don’t really care! The very fact that cars aren’t allowed, and that flamingos are walking around is enough to have me chill there for a couple of days.
We will be spending 3 days in Holbox. During these 3 days I have the firm intention to drink Coronas, eat freshly cut fruits, sunbathe and walk barefoot. And no-one will stop me!
Next stop in my next article!
