A short list of the books I’m swearing by this year so far…
You must hate me by now and probably had enough of me throwing beautiful scenic pictures of where I’ll be going in the next few days…
But allow me the pleasure of rubbing that in yo’ face just a little more…with a mini article on my last destination planned while in Mexico: Bacalar.
3rd Stop in Yucatán? Mérida
So my next stop in Yucatán is the small town of Valladolid. Apparently it’s quite popular as a romantic spot! Lively streets, colourful churches and clear water secret caves… It seems to be a great base for day trips, and since this is a road trip, it sounds good to me! A visit to a Cenote (clear water naturally formed skinholes as deep as 20 metres!). There is also Rio Lagarto, a heaven for pink flamingoes, 1h drive away from Valladolid.
What to do in Isla Holbox? To be honest, I don’t really care! The very fact that cars aren’t allowed, and that flamingos are walking around is enough to have me chill there for a couple of days.
This year, instead of working my holidays around my job, I’ve decided to work my job around my holidays!
I had no plans for this year! And particularly I had no plans for Christmas! But by the time tickets became ridiculously expensive my dear dear family decides to meet up in Paris on the 24th! And my Mom finally decides to come visit me in London for New Year!
